"Symbiosis Institute of Computer Studies and Research (SICSR) aims at building the future leaders for the IT industry worldwide by imparting world class IT education to them. We offer state-of-art information technology education for building leading-edge and innovative IT applications. IT has become a critical tool for economic, business and social development and will play a pivotal and catalytic role in a nation's progress. The fundamental principles on which we lean on are to use IT in all that we do so that our students are technology savvy and are practicing what they learn namely the use of IT to solve business problems."
Every year SICSR has been designing and adding various modular courses, certificate courses, diploma courses as postgraduate/undergraduate programmes according to the needs of the industry. Currently SICSR offers the following programmes:
The institute reviews its course content depending on current industry needs, with technology-enabled learning as a crucial part of this experience. It has been playing a pioneering role in professionalising Indian management through its Post Graduate, Doctoral level programs and Research Activities. The thought process at SICSR is student centric, knowledge based and socially responsible.
FACILITIES
HOSTEL FACILITIES:
SICSR has hostel facilities for girls and boys provided by Symbiosis Society. We also provide a database of Paying Guest accommodation to students in the surrounding area if needed.
LIBRARY:
The main objective is to provide innovative, responsive and effective services, which will meet the changing needs of the academic community. Our library provides a range of books, periodicals, E-resources and other media at appropriate levels for the need of the students. We have to access the world’s best electronic reference databases like EBSCO, DELNET.
LAB:
SICSR has truly world class, state of the art Computer Labs which includes powerful servers, dedicated Internet and email access, desktop PCs and laser / all in one laser printers etc. All computers are connected to a 10/100/1000 Mbps network, which in turn is connected to Gigabit Ethernet. For the Internet, there is 24 x 7 connectivity through 2 leased lines with 4 Mbps and 2 Mbps each. The labs are equipped with Hardware Firewall and content filtering tools with latest Antivirus Gateway level Scanning.
CANTEEN:
Our canteen is not only a place to fill appetite but also a venue for a mélange of ideas and views to converge and give rise to innovative ventures. It has a mess, which offers vegetarian delicacies, & caters to diverse palates. Delicious food is prepared with strict standards of hygiene.
TEACHING AIDS AND PEDAGOGY
SICSR’s approach to teaching includes a combination of lectures, class discussion, group work self-study and has developed e-learning portal using Moodle, for blended learning evaluation and continuous evaluation of students. SICSR uses blended learning techniques and KirkPatrick techniques.
HEALTH AND MEDICAL CARE AND GYM
The Symbiosis Center of Health Care (SCHC) provides an in house, modern, state of art health club & fitness center with a view to facilitate a holistic development of mind & body for an all round development of our students. Each student is insured under the Mediclaim & Road Traffic Accident Policy.

BBA (IT): BACHELOR OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION (INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY)
(3 years Full Time Undergraduate Bachelor Degree Programme)
OBJECTIVE
The ideal foundation for careers / studies in Information Technology and Management. The BBA (IT) programme has conceived, innovated and perfected by SICSR.
BCA: BACHELOR OF COMPUTER APPLICATIONS
(3 years Full Time Bachelor's Degree programme)
OBJECTIVE :
It builds strong foundation needed for careers in Computers/IT field, emphasizing on emerging Computer Applications.
- 1. The curriculum of BBA-IT/BCA programme at SICSR offers Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) or Electives courses. Upto about 10-15% of the total credits are reserved for CBCS. Such courses are offered as generic and as discipline based elective courses.
- 2. Some of the courses offered as part of Generic Elective Courses are Foreign Languages, Humanity and Liberal arts, and Service learning options.
- 3. The Discipline Based electives of BBA-IT/BCA provides an opportunity to students to pursue deeper studies in selected IT and/or business administration oriented courses based upon their interest and choices offered.
- 4. Some of the courses offered as part of Discipline Based Electives for BBA-IT are E-Business Management, Marketing, Mobile Computing and Entrepreneurship development.
- 5. Some of the courses offered as part of for Discipline Based Electives for BCA are Mobile Computing, Distributed and cloud computing, Computer networks and Entrepreneurship development.
